Dilation and Evacuation (D&E)

a. Procedure: D&E procedure uses dilation and curettage, suction, and medical instruments. The unborn child is then evacuated (removed) through the cervix.

b. Possible Complications:

• Increased risk of bleeding, infection, and uterine perforation.
